Yemen is located in Middle East with a population of 28.5 million. It is the second largest Arab sovereign state. It is also the member of Arab League, NAM, UN and Organistaion Of Islamic Cooperation. The Yemen civil war has been going on since 2015.
After resignation the then Vice President Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi took in charge. Hadi's government faced many challenges. It tried to negotiate with rebel groups and fulfil demands of food, water, cloths etc. In 2015 Houthis sorrounded Hadi's residence and kept him house arrested. This action of Houthis was seen as hinderance in negiotaiations and establing peace by UN, USA and some middle east countries.
Since then the civil war hasn't stopped. It has left people homeless. Several air strikes have been carried out. One of the major one was carried out on 8 October 2016 which killed around 140 people.
In 2019 UN had reported 24 million population out of 28.5 million of Yemen needed urgent humaitarian aid. More than 75% people don't have access to masks and sanitizers which are very essential as the entire globe fighting with corona virus.
Yemen hasn't received enough attention. The media has failed to report the crisis. These crisis has gone out of control from the hands of international community. It is very important that UN must be held accountable and the war must be stopped because every single life matters.
